Seriously though, the recent winning has really covered up how he is one of the worst hitters in baseball. They need to send him back down ASAP as we cannot continue to get basically nothing from first when he starts, other than plus defense.

Yeah, at this point with Urshela out, Wallach and Thaiss need to be in the lineup everyday regardless of who is pitching.

Walsh can be a DR for Thaiss in the later innings if needed.

In this scenario with Thaiss getting the majority of 1b starts and Drury at 2b, you could send Walsh down or let him work it out in the cage.

I'm big on defense, but Walsh's .111 BA a'int cutting it.

I see it differently. If we are losing defense without Neto and Urshela you have to keep defense where you can actually have it. I’m guessing the drop off from Walsh to Cabbage is large defensively where the added offense may be less than expected.

It kinda is bc we're somewhat of a mess with the injuries and Trout/Walsh.

I don't agree with this unless Cabbage is terrible defensively. Walsh has a .111 AVG and .418 OPS. If Cabbage can put up a .700 OPS or better, that difference in defense would have to be g.igantic for me

This is what Velazquez is for. Walsh isn't a pitcher, you cant carry a .111 BA at 1b. Especially with Trout funking around.

Well in AAA Cabbage k’s 31% of the time and this is his best k-rate in the last several years.

We’ve been getting this message pretty clearly, Cabbage is held back by his defense.  Bring Fletcher back and make Drury the primary 1b including against most right handers, bringing Walsh in as defensive replacement.

So Drury, Rengifo, Fletcher (SS) and replace them with Walsh, Fletcher and Velazquez (SS) when you have the lead late.

That makes a lot of sense to me.....Rengifo is best at 2b, Drury isn't Walsh at 1b but we need his bat in the lineup.....moving Drury from (primarily) 2b, gives Rengifo a chance to get hot....
