Something positive...

....to help brighten things up around here a bit haha.

As I put on my return post on here if you will, I have been going through a lot of personal turmoil and anguish over the past year or so and therefore why was not on here, and really did not want to face the world in general. Was in a bad car wreck, in the hospital for quite awhile, and the doctors were not sure if I was gonna make it. During this time, a good friend of mine passed away from cancer, my place of employment shut its doors, etc etc. A lot for one person to take on. I did not know where to turn, what to do, anything. My family and friends were there for me and I will always love them for that, and met a lady along the way who means everything to me, but even still there were some dark days if you know what I mean.

Eventually, I did get out of my funk and tried to face life again the best I could and admittedly some days are still a struggle, but way better than they were.

Now on to the main point of this thread:

My family knows how big of an Angels fan I am, sometimes even telling me to just shut up haha as I constantly bring us up even if to vent about something or other. They wanted to do something nice for me in relation to this, and unbeknownst to me, they told me just shortly ago that they had wrote a letter to the club about my near death experience if you will, my long time love for the club, etc and the club themselves have finally responded back and for me to choose any home series this season to attend, they will pay for the flights, tickets, and accomodation!

What a great gesture and I am over the moon! I know Arte(And yes probably not totally on him) gets their detractors and I am one of them at times, but this is just awesome by them and can't wait to come out and see the Halo's at some point this season. Probably when it won't be so hot outside haha!

We all love this team, even through the ups and downs, and we will be on top again at some point, hopefully not when I'm in a nursing home haha.

Glad things have gotten better for you, and nice story about the org. I had a similar experience with Arte 100 years ago, so it's always been hard for me to shit on him on here.

He's well past prime as an owner and needs to go. But he's still a good guy.

Glad to hear you made it through those dark days. Hopefully the homestand you choose the Angels will reward you with a sweep.

@Barf thank you for sharing your story. Man I'm really glad you pulled through it and you were surrounded by family and friends throughout your ordeal. 

I hope we can be your secondary family/friends here as well and this season is finally the year where everything eventually clicks for the Angels and we go on a serious run, deep into the postseason.

Hey friends just a bit of an update on this and me in general:

These past couple months I have really been going full force if you will to take better care of myself mentally, emotionally,and physically. Been following the Angels too no worries there haha, and I am in a better place than I was. Starting a new job at a middle school in August as a truancy officer and will also be coaching the boys track team and the football team. Looking forward to that! Loved playing football in college and doing shotput and the discus in track also.

As far as the thing the team is doing for me, and looking at my new job, the best time for me to come out to Cali to see the boys play will be the August 7-9th series vs the Giants. Works out as the middle school doesn't start back up until that next Monday.

Very much looking forward to it and may see some of you there!
