Considering how terrible they were for their first 10 years, TB is now within range of a .500 all time record if they keep winning for a few more years (-110).

The Angels were the only expansion team with an all time winning record but have fallen back (-40) over the last few years. Houston has that spot now (+10).

The Phillies and Orioles are hopelessly buried with their all time records, both more than -1000 each. It would take several decades of great teams to get out of the hole.

The Yankees could lose 100 games for the next 68 years and still be above .500

The Rays won the Lucky 13th today, but will it be a pyrrhic victory? Starter Jeffrey Springs was pulled after 3 innings today and has been diagnosed with ulnar neuritis, a compressed nerve in his pitching arm. He is expected to be out at least through May 2. If therapy fails, it could mean surgery. He is unbeaten in his first two (quality) starts. The Rays might miss him if he's out for more than a couple of weeks.

Speaking of the 1884 St. Louis Maroons, one of their stars was a certain Billy Taylor, a pitcher who went 43-16 for two different teams that year, with 59 complete games. 25-4 with the Maroons. As a hitter, a batting average of .366.

Charlie Sweeney had 11.2 WAR that year.
