Another Series win!  What is that now 3 of 4?

And very well should have been all 4.

The pen has frustrated for sure, but there's some definite positives compared to recent years.

If Canning is indeed back that's a pretty huge boost depth wise. And the offense finally feels like it can score any given game.

Alright, another series win. 4 IP by the bullpen with only one baserunner is also a pleasant surprise. Taking 3/4 @ Boston would be a lovely start to the season.

They entered the game with the 11th best fWAR in MLB among RPs.  People mocked Perry for saying it but he was right when he said the underlying numbers are good -- minus Tepera.

Its early.  BPs are volatile, but like the Suarez situation they actually have options for a change.

Everybody throws two sliders now, it seems. Usually they call one of them a sweeper.

yeah, I'm well aware of the new sweeper phase in baseball.

I was just wondering if Canning had mentioned anything about it.

I knew he threw a cutter in 2020, but looking back, that had different movement than either of these sliders.

We haven’t really asked too much about the specifics of his repertoire because we were all just waiting for him to actually be healthy. I’m sure if he sticks around in the rotation we’ll get to that.
