Thoughts after the first series

Yes it was the A's.....

Bullpen is shaky which means starts will need to go 7-8 innings in tight low scoring games.  This is doable since the halos are utilizing a 6 game rotation.

O'Hoppe is a pleasant surprise this early. The offensive production from the C position is a very welcome addition.  Arguably is the single most positive factor in the offense due to taking the pressure off Trout and Ohtani.

Laying off paying for an over priced SS looks like the right call.  Go Perry!

Starting pitching has been dealing.  Usually hitters are ahead of pitchers in April, but not the case with the Halos.

Depth - not worried if Rendon misses more games due to suspension.   We have adequate replacements.

Trout - off to a sizzling start.   A healthy Trout is worth every penny.

Overall team - not sleepwalking through games.  Playing aggressive and with a chip on their shoulder.  Highly doubt any opponents look forward to playing the Angels right now.

Fletcher - back to being a tough out and a pesky guy for opponents.

Posters - Still a few being overly cautious, not giving credit to the hard work of the front office and staff,  and not allowing themselves to post something positive, but over all the vibe is what we hoped for.

Otani - Needs to get signed ASAP

I think the bullpen is going to remain the big question. Obviously Phil is going to need to take some time to figure out who he can / cannot trust, the only questions are how long it takes to get there and what that final configuration looks like.

I do think there should be some concern about Rendon / Walsh if they both can't stay on the field. Urshella is a great add when we can hide him at short, and he is an adequate backup at both corners while Rengifo and Drurry are quality options. Lamb and Fletcher are not quality major leaguers though, and anything that creates more opportunities for them is going to hurt the team.

The starting pitching, so far, has been flat out awesome.  I get it…it’s the A’s, BUT they are throwing strikes and pitching ahead in the counts.  That’s a pleasant surprise so far.

The combination of Rengifo, Renfro, and Rendon have 2 hits between them so far.

O Hoppe has been a pleasant surprise as has Urshela.  Drury?  Not so much, yet.

Minus the first game, the rest of the pen has got their shit together.

I hope we pound the Mariners into the ground.
