Angels acquire Hunter Renfroe from the Brewers for Janson Junk, Elvis Peguero, and Adam Seminaris

Year over year performance.  Perry continues to add guys that are legitimately decent major league players.  New horizons are being broached.  The Angels are slowly moving into an era of an entire roster of actual major league players.

I do wonder now if Adell is getting traded.  I know he has one more option, but they acquired a guy that isn’t going to platoon with Adell.

Minasian has a rather clear trend of acquiring players with either one year left on their contract or in their final year of arbitration.  This is yet another example.

Three arms for a year of Renfroe.  The only one I am remotely bothered with losing is Seminares.

Angels would be foolish to give Adell platoon at bats. They may be foolish leaving him as the first callup to replace an injured outfielder as it is.

Solid. Strikes out a lot, doesn't walk much.  But looks like he makes a lot of hard contact and isn't atrocious in the field.  I like it.

It’s an easier way to acquire legit talent without having to make a long term commitment or expend real prospect capital.

Don't think they will trade him.  He has little value.  I think they will have him spend the year in AAA, given it is his last option year, and really hope he can improve significantly with one more year of seasoning.  Acquiring Renfroe does effectively buy Adell one more year of training, so to speak.

I have been very skeptical of Minasian’s time as GM. 

The Anderson, Urshela, and Renfro deals have been way more in tune with what I’d like to see, and I’m coming around to the idea that the Maddon divide was causing some roster issues.
