My mom and sister both live in Idaho and helped increase the black and Asian population of Idaho by 50%.  So it’s also a pretty diverse place now!

A former boss retired to a small town in Montana. He's Italian, former New York City cop before he went into nursing. He and his wife made a trip to the town, to finalize their home purchase and hire a remodeler. They went into a café to have lunch. "People were staring at us. We were the darkest people in there."

Another DeFascist card profaned my mailbox today. For someone who isn't an announced candidate, he is certainly doing a lot of campaigning. This is the fourth or fifth one that I have gotten. His campaign materials say that he wants to follow the Constitution, but there is only one Amendment that he is interested in. It clearly isn't the First. You dare to say anything that contradicts what he wants or to express a contrary opinion, and he weaponizes the government against you.

He says that he wants to do for the country what he has done for Florida. God help us. If we have another pandemic, millions will die. Obviously, he knew more than contagious disease specialists, bragging that he "stood up" to them. Obviously their bulletins were only meant to cause him political harm. Reminds me of a former President to claimed to "know more...than the generals do", so he ignored their advice. Like said President, DeSantis surrounds himself only with people who echo his beliefs. He installed a much-debunked physician as the state's chief doctor. He used the power of government to suppress the collection and reporting of state COVID statistics, so that Floridians would have no idea how many people were infected or dying. He fired anyone who spoke out and told the truth.

I am within six months or so of receiving confirmation of my Canadian citizenship, which would give me an option. My sister already has hers (using the same documentation apart from her birth certificate), but she lives in Florida and we are political opposites.
