I like Vargas, but why in the hell was he still out there??

Because a long reliever is only allowed to enter a game after the team is behind by 5+ runs.

So Scioscia has no problem leaving Vargas out there 5 batters after he should've been pulled, but pulls Williams when he's at 70 pitches and not struggling at all.

So, Jerome gets bumped to the pen, and to come in at the 6th is Kohn?  

 

This is why I don't buy the Jerome to the pen because he is important.  Because before when Jerome was in the pen, he was little used and usually misused.

And that's exactly what will continue to happen. Jerome will be used as the mop-up guy when the starter gets shelled and puts us behind by 5+ runs. Because you want to waste a good pitcher like Jerome on a game you won't win anyway.
