Can America truly expect that either Biden or Sanders can be an effective enough POTUS?    Never mind the stances, they would be late 70s-early 80s in age during their term.   Even Warren is in her 70s already.

Don't the Democrats have any younger persons to garner enough primary votes.

Between Trump, Biden, Sanders, and Warren, that's some advanced years.    

Being in Congress at that age is one thing, being POTUS is quite another.   POTUS, the position that ages one double or triple the years served?

There is light at the end of this tunnel. But it appears this will go into next week as senators want their time for one last argument.

Collins and Romney went along with the 47 Dems, but they needed 51 votes for witnesses.

McConnell statement, just released:

A majority of the U.S. Senate has determined that the numerous witnesses and 28,000-plus pages of documents already in evidence are sufficient to judge the House Managers’ accusations and end this impeachment trial.

There is no need for the Senate to re-open the investigation which the House Democratic majority chose to conclude and which the Managers themselves continue to describe as “overwhelming” and “beyond any doubt.” Never in Senate history has this body paused an impeachment trial to pursue additional witnesses with unresolved questions of executive privilege that would require protracted litigation. We have no interest in establishing such a new precedent, particularly for individuals whom the House expressly chose not to pursue.

Senators will now confer among ourselves, with the House Managers, and with the President’s counsel to determine next steps as we prepare to conclude the trial in the coming days.

This whole "farce" idea worked out perfectly for Republicans. They get to not pay attention to anything because it's a circus anyway, and the senators can vote to not allow witnesses and walk out of the hearing and play on their phones and basically act like children the whole time and no one cares because it was all a "farce" anyway. Why call witnesses? It's just a political circus and it's a partisan trial so there's no need to prove Trump's innocence and waste more time. Why bother staying in the courtroom if your question wasn't asked? In a real trial you'd get thrown directly in jail but this isn't a real trial, it's a farce. A circus. And no conservative has to see otherwise because it was a farce and they didn't bother watching. Why watch a political circus? Why pay attention when you've already made up your mi....I mean when it's just a farce? Just look at the Mueller report. Who the hell even read that crap? Why bother? It was a farce?
