There have been a lot of questionable moves by Brad, but this was unquestionably terrible.

Ausmus is a complete idiot and can not think beyond the absurdity of lefty/righty in key situations.

That is my best defense of Ausmus.

Been sitting here trying to find a reason for the move other than for the righty-lefty matchup which is ridiculous. Rengifo's speed along with Fletcher's ability to make contact could have caused some serious problems for the defense. But no, Bour strikes out with Rengifo firmly cemented on first base.

Ausmus is clearly brain dead. 

I love how Rengifo, a good basestealer was just planted at 1B as well. 

He also didn't challenge that play at homeplate.

I can't remember the last time I turned off a winnable game...  It was such an absurd move....  Who the F was going to play left field should they have tied the game? There was so much stupid beyond just Bour for Fletcher I'm genuinely perplexed....  Was he really playing for a HR in that situation????

Ausmus is going to get himself fired. He was supposed to manage to take fewer risks and put the team in the best position to win. Pinch hitting Bour for Fletcher does not check any of those boxes.
