Oh FFS.

Major League Baseball announced Friday that it'll honor the New York Yankees left-hander - who's retiring at season's end - as part of Tuesday's All-Star festivities at Cleveland's Progressive Field, according to MLB.com's Mark Feisand.

The league will recognize Sabathia "for his contributions to the game and his longtime service to the community," according to the league statement

It appears that the Mets are having themselves a nice little season...

New York Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen threw a chair during a meeting with the team's coaching staff following Friday's loss at Citi Field, sources told Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Van Wagenen berated manager Mickey Callaway and his coaching staff for wasting ace Jacob deGrom's solid start against the Philadelphia Phillies, according to Puma. He then picked up a chair during the meeting, threw it across the room, and told Callaway to go to his "f---king press conference

I like the chair throwing method. Scioscia had many opportunities but just chose to turn the page.

bold prediction: callaway won't last the season.

I like to live on the edge.

Arrieta has a bone spur in his right elbow, according to a source, and it likely will require surgery to remove it -- surgery that those involved had hoped could wait until the end of the season. That delay is no longer certain. It is unclear how much the bone spur has affected Arrieta, who has a 6.63 ERA in his past seven starts
