Wouldn't mind him, he's a huge dude, has experience both at 1st and in RF/LF. Unfortunately his defense leaves a lot to be desired, but he's a good batter. Still under club control until 2023, so it would cost a pretty penny I think.

The had on Mike Ferrin to talk about the Goldschmidt trade and Jeff Joyce was asking Ferrin about the likelihood of the dbacks trading away other players 

paraphrasing, he said on a scale from 1 to dipoto, what are the chances.

Lance Lynn should have been a primary target all along. Previous three seasons before free agency had an ERA of 2.74, 3.03 and 3.43, averages 191 innings a year. Last year was the first he missed ST, and the result showed. But as the year went on, he got stronger and stronger. 

Lance Lynn will probably log 180 innings with a sub 4.00 ERA next year, and will cost a fraction of what others may.

If Dipoto was the GM that made the Goldschmidt trade he would have got only two of those prospects and taken back Jedd Gyroko and his $13 million price tag.

The market is rapidly falling to the point where the guys we should be targeting will be in play, we cant keep saying "its early", its time to wake up.

Of the top 50 ranked free agents on the market only 6 have been signed. In total only 14 free agents have penned a contract, assuming Evoldi is a done deal. The market is not moving rapidly.

Brantley would be a great hybrid 1B/RF. Not sure if there’s enough playing time at either to justify his salary or entice him here but he’d be a great fit.

If Calhoun could be moved, it really opens that door.
