Williams isn't an elite pitcher, but he battles every time he's out there and if the offense stays hot we'll have a good chance for a win

It'd be one thing if he was generally high OBP guy who happened to be struggling right now.  Then I could understand sticking with him.  But he has NEVER shown an ability to get on base at an above average rate, which is pretty much the definition of a leadoff hitter's job.

 

I'm not into criticizing everything MS does, because the man has forgotten more about baseball than I'll ever know.  But this Aybar at leadoff thing is just spitting in the face of logic.
