Yeah I'm with you here. Don't think Cozart being the starting 2B next season helps the offense improve and we already know Pujols isn't going anywhere so his sub .700 OPS will be a constant in the lineup. Paying over $12.5 million a yr on a bench/utility player is bad but it's probably the best course of action in the future.
