Stuck in Houston

Spent the last three days in New Orleans for a retreat. Took off from NOLA at 4:00. Got within 20 minutes of Houston when storms hit. After flying aimlessly over the gulf for 30 minutes waiting for clearance to land in Houston, they sent us back to NOLA. Now we are on the way back to Houston.

Anyone have any restaurant recommendations? Something that stays open late?  Do they even serve booze in Texas on Sundays?

According to state law, noon to midnight on Sunday - but nothing that exceeds 17 percent alcohol by volume.

That is, if you don't wind up being stuck in a dry county, in which case you aren't getting jack.

Update: finally got to Houston. Only had to then wait 90 minutes for a gate. We boarded the plan at 3:30 in NOLA and de-planed at 11:15. Facking miserable.

I'd love to know the life expectancy of a New Orleander(?). I think the healthiest thing I ate all weekend was a beignet, and the healthiest drink I had was a bud light (because the beer selection in NOLA is horrendous). And I am pretty sure the chick selling shots at The Swamp would have stabbed me if I didn't buy shots for the group (she claimed to have beat a murder rap and appeared in 68 porn vids - which of course caused me to wonder "why not go for one more?").
