I can just hear Dipoto's internal monologue.  Just because Vlad is a HOFer and his son would be a legacy addition to this org, it doesn't mean he's better than baldoquin.  We need to pave our own path and open up the cuban market.  Vlad jr isn't major league ready and won't be for some time.  This team needs help now and Baldoquin is the right guy to provide that.

If I'm Scioscia I would argue the Dodgers forfiet because they can't provide a field to play on. It's not an act of God, rainout or tornado warning. This is a field unsuitable for MLB baseball and entirely the responsibility of the Dodgers.
