If Upton is retained his entire agenda goes down the shitter. I also expect them to sign a pitcher. Maybe not Arrieta or Darvish but possibly Lynn.

I could see Arte signing Darvish because he would be the one person that would increase actual attendance, not the paid attendance.

Lynn tried out for the angels today.  Go check out his line in a must needed game. He would fit right in....

I don't want Lynn but honestly when it comes to pitching beggars can't be choosers. The Angels NEED one of the big 3 available this year. We can't go into 2018 relying on 4 starters who missed most of the last year.

Fair enough.

But their pitchers have given up a lot more runs than ours, which explains their record.

They also have a better farm system that produces sluggers like Matt Olson, who is making history with each home run. He costs major-league minimum. We have a lousy farm system. We did produce Trout though, but of course he suddenly can't hit anything.

The farm is on the way up, but it will take another couple of drafts to get there.

In Eppler we trust.

Olson is sicker than a disease for the A'th.

They get credit for staying a 500 ball club without a starting rotation. That they're in contention is a function of how shitty the AL is.

The AL has 1178 total wins

The NL has 1156 total wins

The biggest difference is the how mediocre the AL is...

The NL has  7 teams above .500, Miami is the next closet to the top seven, but are still 9 games below .500

The AL has 5 teams above .500, but 8 teams floating around .500.  The Angels are one game below and the A's are six games.
