Got some more pictures today. Davis Dam. Back of spillway. The turbines that make electric. In the distance you can see the Bullhead City, AZ to Laughlin, NV Bridge along with the Riverside Casino.

Under the right circumstances, those pictures could be viewed as recon photos for something nefarious.

I did a hike this week, saw deer and a birdie at Hanging Rock in Virginia.

Here is the latest video.  This one had some rock scrambling.  It really doesn't catch how steep it is, but yeah, my butt puckered and I was holding on for dear life.

Doh.  And yes, I have seen hunters on the trail before.  Especially on the popular East Fork.

When I first started camping, every noise was a monster or animal coming to get me.  Now, I sleep like Mickey Hatcher after a 10 run game.

Hiker rescued after 5 days lost in Angeles National Forest

So for the first time, I didn't summit a peak that I meant to.  Of all things, was waxing the car, the day before.  And hurt my back.  Made a run at the peak, but by midway, my back was killing me.  So only did 10 of the 19 miles.  Here are some pictures I took of half of the hike.

latest hike.  San Jacinto Peak.  Second highest peak in Southern California.  So far, the hardest hike I've done.  This was just brutal.  At one point, I was stopping every 15 feet.

Last year.  I tried this year.  But hurt my back the day before.  So only made it halfway.  Will probably try again later this year.

How long did it take you to get to the top?

How long was the hike?

What was the elevation increase?

Distance wise, it was kind of short.  5.8 miles each way, elevation gain of about 4500 feet.  Took me over 5 hours to get to the top.  I took lots of breaks, and had to wait for a buddy that was hurting more than I was.  Coming down took under 3 hours.  Started at 7 am, came down at around 4 pm.

I just calculated it.  Geeze.  15% grade.  (Marion Mountain)

Other peaks.  Gorgonio 10.9% grade (Vivian Creek)

Cucamonga 14% (Icehouse Canyon)

San Bernardino 10.6% 

Mt. Baldy 10% (ski hut/bowl)

Mt. Wilson 12.7% (Old Mt. Wilson Trail) 9.5% (Sturtevant Trail)
