July 4th BBQ Menu

Sushi for the 4th. After 5 hours towing the trailer back from a long weekend in Jalama we said screw cooking. 

Last night was insane, sounding like a war zone, we walked over to the school that has views of a good portion of Orange County and Southwest towards Long Beach. Probably 100 plus firework displays visible at least.

Took junior to the Hollywood bowl last night and Pentatonix. They were very good, especially the tranny guy. 

Of special satisfaction for me is that one of my former students is one of the violinists. And not only that, she's also the associate principal first violinist, so she's pretty darn good. She came up and saw us before the concert began, and it was a very proud moment for me.

You get good pics? I was tempted to head out last night for a bit with my drone to try and good some shots, but had to be up too early for work.

No, we didn't realize it was going to be as crazy as it was so I didn't walk over to the park with my camera gear. If I was planning appropriately I would have gone up to a place near Summit House in Fullerton, better unobstructed view.

Night photography is tough, gets in the way of night drinking.

Smoked some ribs and did some pulled pork in the crock pot.

Made some homemade cole slaw with a few drops of ghost pepper sauce mixed in. Got some slider buns... pulled pork sliders with ghost pepper slaw in a slider bun, with smoked ribs and a side of BBQ baked beans with roasted Jalapenos. 

OM NOM NOMS. 

Following this was some good bourbon and a cigar, then on to the fireworks show on the beach of Ocean Shores.

Turkey sandwich, trail mix, and lots of water.

Beers at Yosemite Lodge afterward.
