Yeah, they are really making some moves.  Didn't one owner buy out the other partners too?  Maybe the partners were the problem.

So its now possible the Sharks will finish below the Coyotes. Upgraded their goalies, defense & offense.

Even if SJ re-signs Marleau & Thornton those guys are a year older again & not as much left in the tank.

Love the trade. Stepan is done, and was under a big contract thru 2021, with a no-trade clause kicking in July 1st. Great move. Anti Raanta was in the last year of his deal with Lundquist blocking his path to a starting job. They were going to lose him anyway, so might as well get something for him as his value goes down by the day. Rangers are stacked with goalie prospects on the farm, so no big loss here.

Kevin Klein retired, Dan Gerardi bought out, and Stepan traded, gives the Rangers almost $15 million in cap space to either make a run at Shattenkirk, or save the room for next year and make a big push for John Tavares.
