Not to incite a riot or have people go apeshit here.

How much money and years do you think Mike Trout would attract from teams on the open market if the Angels fail to extend him?

Remember that the open market would not be the end of the world because it would most certainly include the Angels in the mix.

Please try to include money, years and a team.

I believe the Yankees will be in big on Bryce Harper so I'm thinking the Red Sox at 8 years and $360M with huge incentives. Trout retires super wealthy at a nice young age and looks to be part of an ownership group somewhere.

He's going to get more 10 year offers than a Phillipino sex trafficking ring.

The Angels will be one of them. I'm guessing if it gets to FA, Arte will offer him 10/420.

I look forward to this day.

I also look forward to him batting .125 the following April and this place completely melting down.

About $400 million over 10 years. Remember when Pujols got that $250 deal over 10 years back in the winter of 2011? Well, if Pujols had come off of another MVP season, I think he would have gotten close to $300 million in the same amount of the years that he got in reality. 2011 was Pujols' first 'down" year and he was still pretty good that year. I think Trout gets a larger contract because he's younger (big reason) and that he's still on top of his game. He hasn't had a "down" season by his standards yet, although he will one day, unfortunately.
