Father springs into action after coyote attacks toddler outside Los Angeles home

A coyote ambushed a California family's 2-year-old daughter outside their Los Angeles home Friday, dragging her across the lawn before her father charged at the animal and scared it away.

The girl sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated in the emergency room, where she also received the rabies vaccine, the family said.

Shira Eliyahuo, the girl’s mother, told KTLA that her daughter suffered from scratches and some bruising.

She added: "The coyote just kind of dragged her, so her face is also a little bit bruised."

The incident, which happened at approximately 3:42 p.m. on Friday, was recorded by the family's Ring home surveillance system.

My neighborhood was part of the pilot program.  Guess we did a good job.

Los Angeles residents are now required to compost their food scraps

Of course, this is a bit extreme.

Be aware though — anyone who fails to separate their green waste correctly could face some hefty fines. Beginning in 2024, those who contaminate their green waste with the wrong items could be slapped with fines of up to $500.

LA landlords could soon be required to pay relocation fees after rent increases

Quote

Under the city ordinance, if a landlord increases rent by more than 10% or the Consumer Price Index plus 5%, the landlord must pay the tenant three times the fair market rent for relocation assistance, plus $1,411 in moving costs.

According to the city's housing department, fair market rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Los Angeles is $1,747 and $2,222 for a two-bedroom.

South Los Angeles Costco could be built with 800 apartment units built on top

Can you imagine what the parking is going to be like?

we have to cut back on how much water we use or face fines. we are strongly encouraged to scale back on how much power we use, especially during heat waves and peak hours. and if too much power is being used, they are now turning off the power in some cities.

and then they create plans to do things like add 800 new apartments in one gigantic footprint.

I always knew you were a fan of Bill Gates’ (not actually real) plans to depopulate. Thank you for confirming.

The Architectural rendering looks cool but sounds like a bad idea.  From what I see every time I go to Costco the building will need at least 10 freight elevators.

They don't give many details but I'd bet multiple standard safety practices were ignored or violated in this incident. Ultimately, the bus driver is responsible for the safety of his passengers and has to accept the blame for their injuries
