If trading Shoemaker and Santiago can add 5 or so high end prospects and replenish a depleted farm system you have to make those moves. As far as Escobar, I'd be ok with either trading him or holding on to him for next years deadline. One thing I don't understand is why not rotate him and Pujols at DH more. He'd make a perfect DH

Smith for sure...after that, my guess would be no....I think they would like to trade Escobar, who did his usual dumb ass stuff yesterday, but I'm not sure there is a market for him....guy can hit but the market isn't there and his dumb ass stuff doesn't help....
