AHL sets curious new rules on fighting, icing, home jerseys

Some pretty good rules.

i like the home jersey thing.

the fighting thing is allowing some fighting but no more unlimited fighting, and that's a good thing.

don't have an opinion yet on the icing change. disagree with the author's personal opinion about ending icing on the penalty kill, however.

I agree with icing on the penalty kill.  Why do we give the short handed team immunity to a rule?  IMO it would be a great way to increase scoring.

I'd rather keep allowing the icing but go old school and make 2 minute minors last the full term regardless.

Can you imagine how gassed your defenders would be? Keep it as is, you cheesehead.

Yes... why is that bad?  Penalties should cost the team penalized, instead they turtle up and can just ice the puck any time they get it.  Force them to clear the zone and make risky changes.

Agreed. It would.screw things are up for the Kings & Ducks. It pretty much would end Physical hockey & turn the league into a soft Euro league to avoid taking penalty's. Every team would model themselves after Detroit & their soft brand of hockey. 

Better off decreasing size of goalie equipment or bigger nets.
