Weaver is 3-0

As sad as it's been to see Weaver decline, he is still much less frustrating to watch than certain other Angel pitchers who struggle, because you know he's out there giving his all every start. He takes complete responsibility for his performance and never skulks around or tries to deflect blame. He's a pure gamer, and for that, I'll always appreciate him as a classic Angel SP.

Honestly, I love Weaver. But it's probably not going to get any better. He got shelled yesterday, but he got lucky with a lot of run support to get the win.

Weaver gave up 4 runs in 6 innings, that's hardly getting shelled. He got hit around a little bit but I think your characterization is a bit over stated.

If Weaver had given up 3 runs instead of 4 in 6 innings would you say he almost got shelled?

I'm A positive guy but Weaver was getting hit VERY hard. Four runs in six innings is a 6 ERA, that's getting shelled. Especially when you add in all the extra base hits.

He's had 4 starts. 2 really great ones and 2 sub par ones. I'm way more concerned about Shoe than Weaver.

Like I said Weaver got hit around a little bit but he didn't get shelled..Volquez is the one that got shelled!

If the Angels had scored 3 runs instead of 9 would you have been happy with his performance?

The point wasn't about the Angel offense, it was about Weavers performance. Certainly he didn't pitch great, but characterizing his outing as "getting shelled" is over the top imo.

I stand by my statement.

Of course you do.

You have already stated you don't care how Weaver does this year..you still want him gone.

Maybe Weaver will stink it up the rest of the year but I'm going to let his results dictate what my opinion of his performance is and I don't care about his peripherals or WAR.

You guys are forgetting the Royals are the defending champs, and tend to hit a lot of pitchers hard, even ones throwing 90+.

Weavers fine. He did what was expected of him last night. Ate 6 innings and kept the team in the game against a very good offense. There were a lot of hard hit balls but he also made the big pitch when he needed to get a double play ball or a lazy fly out. Against a lesser opponent last night he probably goes 7 innings giving up 2 or less.
