Travs lost in 10 to NW Arkansas, 1-2.
David Fletcher: 2-4, 2B, BB – hitting .311 in Arkansas (45 AB) with a .279/.323/.350/.673 line on the year.
Alex Yarbrough: 2-4, BB
Jordan Kipper: 8 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, 3.18 ERA on the year (24 GS, 147.1 IP)
Kevin Grendell: 1 IP, 1 ER, 2 BB (L, 1-1) – only second run allowed in 14.1 IP in Arkansas (1.26 ERA in AA)

David Fletcher’s now played 158 games in his minor league career, 52 walks to 70 Ks with a .293/.347/.378/.724 line.
He’s moved fairly quickly through the system, and could be on the team’s UT IF depth chart as soon as next season.

Inland Empire lost to Rancho Cucamonga, 3-8.
Michael Hermosillo: 0-3, BB
Zachary Houchins: 1-4, HR (16), 3 RBI

Ayendy Perez: 2-3
Winston Lavendier: 1 IP, 1 H, 2 K
Samuel Holland: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K – his ’16 line is incredible : 40.1 IP, 20 H, 3 ER, 7 BB, 34 K - .67 ERA, .147 BAA, .67 WHIP

Haven’t heard much on Lavendier, he’s a little older at 24, but a big lefty (6’2”, 225)  with good minor league #s.
On the year, between Burlington/IE: 67 IP, 62 H, 23 ER, 6 HR, 27 BB, 71 K, 3.09 ERA, .244 BAA, 1.33 WHIP.
Over his career, he’s throw 99.2 IP, 87 H, 31 ER, 7 HR, 32 BB, 101 K, 2.80ERA, .233 BAA, 1.19 WHIP
Seems like he could be close behind Mahle and Deloach on lefty relief prospects next year.

Aussie Samuel Holland was poached from the Pads system it seems, and has been lights out this year. Only 22 years old.
Over his career, 169.1 IP, 136 H, 47 ER, 7 HR, 34 BB, 169 K – 2.50 ERA, .215 BAA, 1.00 WHIP

Meanwhile in the Braves system, both Newcomb and Ellis are struggling in the high minors.

Newcomb is stuck in AA 2.5 years after being drafted 18th overall out of college.   He's walked 5 per 9 innings and has a 4.07 ERA.

Ellis has totally crapped the couch in AAA: 6 plus ERA and over 7 walks per 9 innings.   His control wasn't a lot better in AA either.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we see Andrew Bailey added to the 40-man and come up in September as an audition for next year, with the Angels or otherwise.

Sean Coyle: 2-4, SB – now hitting a blistering .238 over his last 10 games, with a .171 BA on the season.

Here's a new question for those prospect nuts: Which minor leaguers are  most likely to contribute to the team next year?

Nate Smith and Alcantara. Possibly Keynan Middleton.

That's about it.

Normally I'd save this for an article, but I'll go ahead and sum it up.  tDawg is obviously right about Smith, Alcantara and Middleton.  I suspect they'll all be up by July next season.  Smith I think will bounce between the Angels rotation and Salt Lake.  Middleton and Alcantara should break in at a relatively similar time, and they figure to form with Bedrosian, Guerra, Valdez and Morin to form a pretty dynamic young bullpen.  You can probably add Eduardo Paredes to that equation too.  Hard thrower with decent control and lots of movement.  Lots of ways to get batters out.  There's an outside chance at Wesely and Kaelin too.

I think Meyer and Banuelos will both be up with the Angels in a starting role in 2017.  Chris O'Grady and Kyle McGowin could figure into a starting role as well.  O'Grady's a lefty that can generate ground balls with his low-90's fastball when going right.  Pretty good control too.  McGowin is a righty with similar stuff but a better breaking ball.

We might also see David Fletcher in some capacity.  Fletch can pick it at 2B, SS and 3B and run a little bit.  He'd be a very ideal utility infielder that should draw comps to Maicer or Eckstein.

Agree.  I also think Sherman Johnson, Troy Scribner, Cody Ege, Jordan Kipper, Alex Blackford, Cal Towey, and maybe Andrew Daniel or Cal Towey could get a cup of coffee next year.  Maybe Kevin Grendell as well.

For those who don't know, Ege is a situational lefty type that has fanned 246 batters in 208ip over his minor league career.  high 80's fastball.  good curve.   Drafted by Texas and traded to Miami.  Not sure how we got him.  Nasty vs. lefties at every level.
