Windows 10 Laptop suggestions

I need to replace my Vista laptop and am looking for suggestions on a new Windows 10 machine.

I am looking for a middle of the road machine, but not sure what specs I should be getting to support Windows 10.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Honestly anything can support Windows 10.

 

What do you want to do with it?  Browse the net, play games, etc?

It is primarily for the better half, browse, you-tube, email etc. She isn't into gaming.

So it doesn't need to be high end, but I don't really want to pickup something too low end.

Honestly man, just set a budget and get whatever works out.

 

I would stick to better brands like Lenovo or Samsung.  The only time you need more juice is when you are gaming.

 

How much you spend will depend on a couple things:

 

Display resolution & touch or non-touchscreen

Battery Life

Build Quality

 

For me all three are important. As long as you can get 1080p resolution you are good on display.  Touchscreen doesn't matter.  Battery life is always important and build quality is paramount.  I prefer Apple for this reason but as a PC look for the laptops that aren't really plastic feeling.  It wears down.

From what you are describing, really anything will do.  I suggest a i3, with 4-8 gb of ram.  Which ATM a $200-300 laptop will do. 

 

I think the big thing will be the wifi connectivity.  But if it's lacking, probably better to upgrade the router than the computer.

Toshiba and ASUS make extremely good laptops, look at those first.

just get a chromebook if you are only going to do youtube/email.
