Is he signed? Strange that I've heard nothing about him but would love to have him back in LF on a 2 year

i get the feeling he is sitting there as a fallback plan... might be better than what we have but then why waste all that roster space?

No other team is in a rush to sign him that's for sure.

He would effectively bump Nava into Choi's role, and Choi off the team.

I think at this point, with this roster and the way this offseason has gone, I'd rather go with Nava and Choi. If Nava rebounds, he'd be as productive as Murphy, and if Choi develops we have another young bat going forward.

Yet he had a better season than either Nava or Gentry... which goes to show just how terrible both were last year.

You got a better idea notti? Because if you believe Nava and Gentry are any better then you're mistaken.

I think they haven't played a single game as an Angel to make that declaration. Murphy however did and he was not good.

Murphy played in an Angels uniform for a month and hit .260 

 

I don't think he squared the ball up very well in that span I'll give you, but in a full season I'd take him over those two any day of the week. 

 

There's something to be said for consistency and playing experience when dealing with unknowns.

I'm calling it now. Someone (probably one of our rivals) signs Joyce and he becomes the comeback player of the year.

Last season he started out in a slump and it just ate away at his mental game and confidence level.

 

At that point he was toast! Over worked and over analyzed...

Coincidence that after he went down before the 2014 season opener, that they had a strong offense that year?

Could also have been that Matt was pressing wanting to get off to a strong start with his new organization? I mean he even had a tough time base running and was 0/3 in SB's.....That's usually someone frazzled and it's time to take a break and quit thinking about the game for a month or so.
