What are your true thoughts on Angel Stadium?

Recommended Posts

I've been to:

Angel Stadium

Petco

Wrigley

Doyyer Stadium

Oakland

Safeco

Kingdome + The Murph in the past

Wrigley was the best experience by far. Best city. Best area around the stadium.

Safeco was my second favorite. Cool location and the area around the stadium is pretty cool. But inside is tits. Great park to watch a game. TV doesn't do it justice.

Petco is pretty cool all around.

I've been to:

Angels Stadium

Dodgers Stadium

AT&T Park

Petco Park

O. Collesium

Fenway

Old Yankee Stadium

Nationals Park

Shea Field

Comerica Park

Old Busch stadium

Chase Field

My top 3 are AT&T, Fenway, Nationals park in that order.  You cant beat the atmosphere and surrounding area at AT&T.  I really would like to check out the Pirates ballpark and the Mariners ballpark sometime soon.

It would be a perfect location for a new baseball stadium. Arte could drop the Anaheim tag.

Carson is a nice choice. I do think tho, that in order to move the franchise into the future,

Arte needs to move to Downtown LA! The opportunity to move into the failed LA Live NFL spot exists.

With Metro Link trains now connecting downtown LA with

Santa Monica, Long Beach, San Fernando Valley & Santa Clarita Valley and Amtrack running from the OC to Union Station, getting to a game in rush hour will now be easy instead of a pain in the arse

It's now time to join their old LA RAMS brothers and come Home to their roots and become the LA Angels

Downtown Halos sounds good to me.

The Amtrak to Union Station travel though still leaves one about 3-4 miles from the Convention Center/Staples area.

Union station.

Get on the red/purple line to I forget the station name you get off on.  Something park, maybe Lafayette, but it's where the blue line currently ends.

Blue line, to convention center.  2/3 stops I think.  It's across the street.

They are currently expanding the blue line so that it goes to Union Station.

One thing that sorta bugged me, after being in some more modern stadiums (or true baseball stadiums with more recent refits) is the angle of the seats.

It would be so much better if they were angled slightly towards the pitchers mound. Facing them straight forward, no matter where they are in relation to the diamond, is stupid.

For the most part, though, I think it is fine for what it is.

A suburban, no neighborhood, no ambiance, no frills, concrete and steel, baseball stadium.

One of the problems is you have the stadium sitting in the center of a giant parking lot.  I don't know how far it is, like a half-mile or something from the center of the stadium to state college.  So you're literally in the middle of nowhere when you are at the stadium.
