Well, debit cards have two way authentication.

 

Something you know (like a PIN)

 

Something you have (the card)

 

just missing the whole "Something you Are" part (like a fingerprint).

 

technically 2FA just requires two of the three.

it's why gas stations require zip code, etc.

 

for CCs, what i do is make sure i get a txt every time any of my accounts are used.

it's pretty immediate.

anytime there is something funky (never have, knock on wood) i would see it immediately.

Problem is that the pin never changes and neither does the card.  So if someone skims both, you are screwed.  

 

A lot of gaming and even banking online uses a unique code sent to you that is only valid for a minute.  

 

Of course if someone steals your phone and CC, you may be as screwed as if someone skimmed and recorded your pin number.  

 

And Nate can tell you.  Something you are can be a pain since it never changes.  And well, some 15 million government employees got that part stolen.

I have used Apple Pay a couple times.  Honestly it doesn't seem any more convenient than taking a card out of my wallet.
