SPOKE TOO SOON: Man who bragged about massive heist faces up to 40 years in prison

A Brooklyn man could face up to 40 years behind bars after he was found guilty in a Chanel store robbery of over $200,000 in stolen luxury items in SoHo.

In February 2021, Eric Spencer, 30, and three other suspects reportedly entered a Chanel store and ripped handbags from store security cables. When Spencer was approached by an armed store security guard, he reached into his waistband to give the impression he had a gun, prompting store personnel to back off, according to a statement released by the United States District Attorney's office on Tuesday.

Spencer later took to social media days after the robbery boasting about his crime and even said he "could open a small boutique" based on the number of bags stolen. He even sent text messages confirming his crime.

The 30-year-old was convicted by a jury Tuesday of one count of conspiracy to commit robbery and one count of robbery after a one-week trial. The maximum potential sentence for each count is 20 years in prison.

Man Jailed for Murdering Toddler Killed by Inmates (msn.com)

A prisoner in North Carolina who was convicted of murdering a toddler was killed in a group attack by other inmates, according to prison officials.

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NCDPS) said Semajs Short, 24, was attacked by other inmates at the Bertie Correction Institution, in Windsor, on Tuesday afternoon.

According to WFLA-TV, an NBC affiliate, Short had pleaded guilty to killing a 2-year-old girl when he was 17 years old.

You want to think that the murder was related to killing the toddler but he had been in the system for 5 years. My guess is that he was just an asshole and pissed too many people off.

Where the highest, and lowest, percentage of excessive drinkers live nationwide

https://www.abc4.com/news/national/where-the-highest-and-lowest-percentage-of-excessive-drinkers-live-nationwide/

(KTVX) – You may have a perception of how much alcohol the people in your community drink, but does it match reality? A new map helps illustrate which counties across the United States are prone to excessive drinking and which states avoid a big bar tab.

The data behind the map comes from a County Health Rankings and Roadmaps report produced by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. The report is intended to improve health outcomes and close health disparities by bringing awareness to factors that influence health and offer actions on improving community health.

Within the report, factors are reviewed, categorized, and used to determine length and quality of life on a state-by-state basis. Among those factors is alcohol and drug use, which is determined based on excessive drinking.

To find out how your county ranked for excessive drinking and other tracked factors, visit CountyHealthRankings.org and type in your county, state or zip code.

FDA testing detected the presence of benzene in The Mandalorian branded product and methanol in the Mickey Mouse version. The company was notified of the results in late February.

Benzene is a carcinogen, and substantial exposure can cause leukemia, blood cancer of the bone marrow, and life-threatening blood disorders, the FDA said.

Ohio man goes on all-beer diet again for Lent to lose weight, gain money for charity

CINCINNATI (WKRC) — An Ohio man decided to give up everything but beer for Lent again, and he's using it to raise money for charity.

Del Hall, the co-owner of Ohio's 16 Lots Brewing Company, began his all-beer diet in 2019 over the 40-day fast. Not only did he lose 40 pounds, but Hall says that he felt great in the process. Ever since, Hall decided to make the fast his tradition, but he began to add a goal to his unusual diet in 2020: raising money for charity while also losing weight.

According to his GoFundMe page from 2020, Hall lost 50 pounds and raised $10,000 for a charity during the pandemic.

While many worry about his health over the 40 days, Hall has said in the past that he consulted his doctor about the choice.

"She said, 'You're an idiot if you do this,' but she knows how strong-willed I am," Hall said. "Once she knew I was determined to see this through, she recommended I take multi-vitamins, stay hydrated, and she told me not to do anything stupid."

Hall says that he will also drink water to stay hydrated, but all of his calories will come from beer.

This year, Hall is raising money for the Ken Anderson Alliance, a nonprofit organization that helps adults with disabilities find work and other opportunities, a cause personal to him.
According to the website where people can donate, Hall has a daughter with special needs and saw this as "a great opportunity to conduct his fast while supporting KAA."

What a weird article.  I can't make out who is who in this one.  From what that mess of an article infers, the teen and sister in law was trying to steal the phone from the dude then he started to hurl racist insults?  Then she kicked him, and he went all I won't punch a girl, but I sure will shove them?

Dangerous Portuguese man o' war blow into Florida, South Carolina beaches along with spring breakers

As spring break revelers flocked to beaches in South Florida and South Carolina recently, so did the dangerous Portuguese man o' war. Purple flags flew across Treasure Coast, South Florida and South Carolina beaches indicating dangerous marine life in the water.

The Portuguese man o' war, related to a jellyfish, fires barbs loaded with toxin when something brushes against their tentacles. The cells still fire even if the animal is dead and washed-up on shore.

"These animals are some of the most toxic animals in the world," said Tony McEwan, Curator and Marine Biologist at the University of Hawaii's Waikiki Aquarium. "They're not very maneuverable animals, so their prey has to be immobilized very quickly."

Tentacles trail from a bubble/float with a sail. The animal was so named because it looked like an 18th-century Portuguese warship under sail.

The float can be a gossamer blue, pink or violet up to 6 inches long and sits 6 inches above the waterline. They look pretty, but don’t touch.

"The Portuguese man o' war is not going to kill you but, it's going to be painful, and it's going to be uncomfortable and very itchy for a while," said McEwan then added the toxin could be fatal to someone with an allergy. "Then it slowly, slowly dissipates."
