Venomous blue dragons wash up along Texas beaches

GALVESTON, Texas -- Venomous sea slugs, known as blue dragons, have been washing up on beaches along the Texas coast for the last week.

The sea slugs are only about 1 or 2 inches in size, but their sting can be very painful.

"If you get stung by one of these, we say take it easy," Jace Tunnel from the University of Texas Marine Science Institute told FOX 26 in Houston. "The sting is very similar to a Portuguese man o’ war. They feed on man o’ war. It gets their neurotoxin and holds it in there. If you have an allergic reaction, or if the pain is too much to bear, we recommend going to the hospital."

Dorothy's dress from "The Wizard of Oz"

One of Judy Garland’s dresses from the 1939 film "The Wizard of Oz" is set to be auctioned off next month.

Now that it has been rediscovered, the dress will be auctioned in Los Angeles on May 24 in the "Bonhams Classic Hollywood: Film and Television" sale, according to a news release from the CUA.

The proceeds from the sale of the dress – valued between $800,000 and $1.2 million by auctioneer Bonhams – will help establish a new film acting program at the CUA’s Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama and Art, the release said.

WTF?

Tokyo resident Akihiko Kondo made global headlines in November 2018 when he tied the knot at the age of 35 with Hatsune Miku, a virtual popstar developed by Crypton Future Media based on the singing synthesizer software Vocaloid.

Miku, who takes on the appearance of a 16-year-old girl, has appeared in video games, virtual concerts and even a tour with Lady Gaga.
