Well when you've already used Jepsen and taken him out after 5 pitches for some reason and Mark Lowe has been worked hard the first 3 games.

 

yeah, it would have been an ideal situation for Jepsen.  But this is where I wish managers didn't have the mindset that their closer can only pitch the 9th.  that was likely the most crucial moment of the game, so if Frieri is our best RP, then bring him in.

disappointed by Downs, but honestly, this game is not on the 'pen IMO.  Day game in Texas, pitching staff has only given up 3 runs, and our offense has taken a huge dump out there.  2 runs isn't going to stand up in Texas very often.
