I couldn't care less what other teams do during the middle of the year. Sure, I hope to see a loss when I look at the scoreboard, but the A's are playing fantastic ball right now. All we can do is win our games and stay in the race. We need to win every series we can and get some winning streaks. We can't keep giving away ball games that are ours for the taking.

That's true, but the Yankees and Tigers are tied with the Angels. The O's are only one game back and the crummy Indians and M's are only two games back.

I can see it already.  Howie at the plate with the game on the line in a 1 game playoff to get to the 2nd wild card spot.

The division is all but wrapped up.  

 

With our crap pen theres absolutely no chance we catch Oakland.  I would be thrilled with a wild card spot because at least that means we can throw our best pitcher our there and hope for the best.  

 

 

It's easy to win when you have a manager and GM who have brains.
