the team is playing well, so I'm not going to get too upset, but . . .

I'll just never understand Scioscia and the logic behind his lineup decisions.  The guy he tabbed as his leadoff hitter all off-season and all ST is back, but is hitting 6th?  And the two guys that replaced him most often, Cowgill and Aybar, are in the lineup but neither one of them are hitting leadoff either?  He has two historically poor OBP guys hitting 1 & 2?  And Ibanez continues to hit clean-up.

*shakes head*

Scioscia implies he values the 2 hole by keeping his best hitter there (which agrees with advanced metrics, probably by accident), but then you give that guy a day off and replace him with... Erick Aybar.  He's the best angelswin troll and doesn't even know it.

im honestly just sick of him playing roulette with the lineup.  pick a god damn lead off hitter already and stick with it.  pick an everyday lineup already and stick with it.

and why would you want a .260 hitting aybar at the top of the lineup where he would get more ab's than someone like cowgill? navarro? or calhoun?  it blows my mind because it's just a common sense thing that any manager should possess.  i cant take this shit anymore.

While I agree that Aybar should be further down in the line up, you need to take a good look at Howie's stats this year. I know he isn't your favorite player but he's batting .310 with an OBP just shy of .390. I am guessing he wanted Calhoun deeper in the line up to drive in runs but I don't know for sure. Oh and before you ask, no I can't defend or explain why he is playing Ibanez. My guess is they are giving him every opportunity to break out of this or prove he can't do it anymore. This season has been awesome because the injuries have given young players a chance to show their worth, at some point that will be rewarded.

I don't understand the Aybar or Howie hate.  Aybar is not a .260 hitter.  Dude is hitting .311 with an .817 OPS over the last month.  These are comments from people who do not watch the games.  He's only hitting .260 because he started the year off cold but he's been on fire lately, why wouldn't you have him at the top of the lineup?

I won't even address the Kendrick criticism because the dude has been arguably the best hitting 2b in baseball. Maybe Dozier but Kendrick is a close second.
