I think when you look at it, there's nobody on the roster right now that Scioscia could put in the leadoff spot that wouldn't spark debate/second-guessing.  Trout is obviously the most qualified, but then you're hurting the middle of your order.  IMO Cowgill is the next best option, but he's still Collin freaking Cowgill - not exactly a no-brainer.  Shuck is terrible right now. Aybar is hitting, but maybe the least qualified leadoff hitter in baseball.  Kendrick, while he still irks me, might just make sense up there for now, particularly since he seems to be more patient (for however long it lasts) recently.

This is kind of how I feel. I guess I just wish people here would understand the position the team is in. When they complain about Howie leading off right now it's basically just to complain. We really don't have better options.
