Jean Segura out of game, struck in face by Ryan Braun practice swing

Recommended Posts

Speaking of injuries in the dugout, something weird just happened to Hanley Ramirez as he entered the dugout after grounding out. Vin Scully is talking about it right now. He injured his hand somehow, and it doesn't look good.

They're working on him now, it's the right thumb.

He was doing it again his next time in the hole...

I haven't heard or seen any updates on Segura.

At least he had his helmet on?

Hopefully it's not too serious.

It's not good, but it could have been much worse. Thankfully, he had his helmet on. He still got his head cut open.

update:

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke updated reporters on Segura's status after the game.

"No concussion, no fracture but he was laid open pretty good. So a plastic surgeon stitched him up," Roenicke said. "He'll have some swelling tomorrow, I'm sure, so we'll see how quickly it goes down and how many days (out of the lineup) it's going to be."

LOL, Braun is surprised that it doesn't happen more often. Nothing about stopping this idiotic practice.

Oh, and he exited the game in the 9th inning with an injury himself.
