Far less than the number of people that will if the state remains dry that is for sure.

 

Reports of people abandoning their homes in central CA because their wells have run dry.

The way I see it, if someone can't drive in the rain right, they shouldn't be driving at all. 

It's common sense, plain and simple....one car length per every 10mph.

It's not my fault or Mother Nature's that people are too stupid to understand that driving too close to a car = rear ending waiting to happen.

NWS Alert:

There remains a potential of a 2 to 3 hour burst of heavy rainfall with this system on Tuesday...where rainfall rates around one half inch per hour will be possible. Rainfall rates of this intensity could bring the threat of flash flooding and mud and debris flows to locations in and around recent burn areas. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the recent burn areas from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. Additional rock and mudslides will also be possible in non-burn areas...especially along Highway 1 and canyon roads in the Santa Monica Mountains.

 Flooding is not a major problem in southern California as it is in the midwest, but we do get mudslides/landslides.
