Time to Predict Scoiscia's Post Game Comments

....If he wasn't having one of this patented - and effective closed-door meetings again.

"This was one of those games where we started to get good wood on the ball. This kid that we faced on the mound, the one that our scouts pegged perfectly, kept our championship caliber club off balance with a mix of pitches just outside the strike zone. It is hard to make adjustments sometimes when a pitcher varies his pitches so much. You just gotta tip your cap to him, and ultimately appreciate a once in a generation pitcher in the making. Butch will work on some things with Joe, the ball is startin' to come out of his hand well, so he is movin' forward and gettin' to where he needs to be." "There were a couple of flies in the ointment tonight, but overall our guys got a few things goin' and we like what we see goin' forward as we get a bit deeper into the season."

Hard to improve on the genuine article today...

“When he struggles, he really struggles,” Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. “Joe made some good pitches but he just missed with some spots. He was at 90 pitches and wasn’t out of the fourth. With 11 baserunners, things just weren’t falling his way. He’s out there trying. There’s nobody trying harder than Joe, but it just didn’t come together tonight.”

LOL  Yeah, I heard that Captain Obvious speech. He also stated that, " we should be gettin' some guys back here shortly and we can see where we are going forward."

Yeah Mike, you only need to look at the standings and the stats to see that. They'll tell you - and all of us, just exactly where the team stands. Right now it 11 games out and is in danger of falling into 4th place - that is where the team is at.

Thanks, Chris. That actually would be something Scoiscia would pull out of a hat if pressed. Of course it was pure sarcasm as that pitcher actually is mediocre at best as evidenced by his late start in the majors, his past stats, and his balls to strikes ratio - which was awful. That is all we could score on this guy? Really? I love the approaches that Pujols, Aybar, Callaspo, and Howie all took at the plate against this guy.
