Angels have had 8 LOSING seasons let's try and build a winner. People would still go to games. Half the fans showing up it's just an outing. No idea who's playing. Yankee fans will show up as will Boston, Dodgers among fans of other teams. Watching these young players develop or we can buy magic beans Minasian will sell this off season. Rendon will be healthy, Anderson will have bounce back year and signing pitcher like Giolito will change things. Stay the same course or change direction is what this off season will be about.

He would also be in a far less productive lineup, and his production could reasonably be expected to decline, perhaps sharply.

I am well aware of how many losing seasons we've had.  Two seasons ago, Arizona lost 100 games, and today they're in the World Series.  

They didn't make any drastic changes, they let their people develop, and they had good health.  

The Angels have Trout, Detmers, O'hoppe, and others to form a good core of talent.  The health part will have to take care of itself.

When was Arizona GM hired? How about their manager Lovullo hired? 2016 Hazen was hired and he hired Lovullo same year. Unlike Angels who change GM and manager every other year they stuck with both. Even thru bad years and they worked plan they had. Angels do not have a plan. Arizona is going to WS with only 84 wins in regular season. Arizona got hot during playoffs. Baltimore lost over 100 games few years back they kept Hyde as manager. After 8 losing I'm not buying Arte's magic beans this off season.

Texas and Arizona each lost over 100 games just two seasons ago! Now they're in the World Series. Rebuilds obviously can be done quickly. Even though both were wild cards they were good enough to be playoff teams and peaked post season. 

I'm seeing glimmers of hope that the Angels are somewhat engaged in a more comprehensive rebuild than they have in recent years.

 We shall see how the off season transpires. Serious moves with the roster, coaching and managerial staffs or just a bit of shuffling and plugging in place holders. Some smaller  positive changes already, but the off season is just starting. 

Ultimately Arte sets the tone, and Perry has to work with those orders. So we shall see how it goes. But maybe watching these series teams rebuild so fast will trigger a different approach. Away from older big names and more focus on a infrastructure and development.

That just needs a few shorter contract acquisitions and better coaching and team health

It's moot. Nobody is trading for Trout because he can't stay in the lineup. Not a great trait in an expensive player.
