i know you have good references ...what is the worst month any mlb team has ever had ? it might be a record we can break...

I posted something without researching, but it wasn't right, so I deleted.  Here's an article from about a decade ago about some of the worst months ever:

regnifo did the same thing last year when the season meant nothing...until he can show he can put up numbers when the games matter he is just an average player...

He may even be below average.  But damn does he get the most out of what God gave him?

The best ability is AVAILABILITY.  I don’t think he’s been injured one time the last two seasons.  And if he was, he didn’t go on the IL….

You can insert him in the lineup anywhere.

He never bitches about anything.

He’s relatively cheap.  (See Rendon’s contract)

He’s only 26.

Gimme nine Rengifo’s and the ballclub would play over .500 ball.

Every season.

This ball club hasn’t done that in ten years.

Gifo has been one of the few bright spots the last couple of seasons.

Extend his contract and find a few more guys who play like he does.

And ya know what I like about him most?  He hits a home run (from either side of the plate) and he is in a full sprint!  He doesn’t stand there and watch it!

hell yeah Rengifo!

player of the week!

That '88 Orioles team had 2 future HoFers in Murray and Ripken and the corpse of Fred Lynn but managed to lose the first 21 games and didn't win their 10th until beating the Angels at the Big A on May 29

Fangraphs and Baseball Reference have different numbers on exit velocity for some reason, but regardless of which would you look at, it confirms that Schanuel is getting weak contact.  81.4 mph avg exit velocity on B-Ref, 82.6 on Fangraphs.  B-Ref has the major league average at 88.6 mph.

EDIT: Also, 62.5% ground ball rate vs. a 42.2% average.  Lol.  Yes, it's super early, but need to see these patterns change pretty quickly.

He is only 21 learning at highest level. His high obp is nice. Maybe be year or two to get power numbers up. Leading off is getting on base. Again like so many others halos rush players up. If Angels ever turn this around these young players will need to improve.
