Arguably the worst injury season in Angel history.

The priority will be to add good pitching, a couple starters and BP guys.   The position guys, when healthy are good enough to win the division.

That doesn't mean much, though, since they're never healthy at the same time for long stretches. They absolutely cannot go into next season without making some additions on the position player side, too.

EDIT: ... unless they really do go into cost-saving, rebuild/reload mode.

I got reamed in another thread for saying there is no reason to bring Trout back this year because the risk of injury that could spill into ‘24 was not worth it. One freaking game!

You know what you're talking about.  I said that in another thread today as well, and got pushback.  I also said it a week ago.

Trout out again?  Unbelievable.

Ohtani - torn UCL -- is he out for the season, too?   Definitely not pitching again this year.

well, it's not like the Halos are in the thick of the playoff spot chase.  But GEEZ.

Imagine if the Angels were 2 games up now in the wild card and Trout and Ohtani are done for the year.

Imagine the Angels anywhere close to playoff spot is all we've done for about a decade. But GEEZ. -  no Ohtani , no Trout,  Dog days of late August / September  -- going to be a lot of empty seats at the ball park.

Maybe Arte will reconsider selling the team.

I’m assuming Trout had to be cleared by team doctors to come back. Whether it’s bad luck or dysfunction this franchise sets a pretty high bar.

The term "team doctors" inspires no confidence anymore. Trout's "strained calf" two years ago was revealed five months later to be a serious tear. Will they be amputating Rendon's leg soon?

"Day to day" often turns into weeks or months.

Just messed up. Atlanta had like five players on the IL and we're approaching 20?

there have been worse -- but this one goes down as one of the most disappointing --  and YES--  us Halos fans have a lot of experience with disappointment.   Now there's absolutely no reason to watch/ attend an Angels game the rest  of this season,.  With Ohtani likely  playing his final games in an Angels uniform -- folks would have come out  to see him play -- now --  they'll stay home and watch college/ NFL football.

Now hold on there, don't give up yet. There still is O'Hoppe, Schanuel and soon Neto to return from the IL to see how they are going to end the season.

With luck not at Kerlan Jobe.

One can hope. I just don't see the Halos. being anything more than a mediocre team for the next decade under Arte's continued ownership. His change of mind to keep the club during the off season just prolonged the total rebuild schedule this franchise needs.   Just when you thought the Angels  2023. season couldn't get worse......Ohtani and Trout both out,  probably for the season -- as for Ohtani -- why would he play at all the rest of the way?  Why  risk injury to. try to win meaningless games for a team you're leaving.........

O'Hoppe !!! another Halos IR list guy. -- and coming out  of Spring Training and into April - he was looking really solid on defense behind  the plate - and at the plate. -- then he went down -- he was looking like ROY material.

Schanuel will have the opportunity togged  some MLB playing time without a lot of pressure -- that'll be a positive thing. His start has been very promising.

Did you hear then say he can't do more damage, that it's all about pain tolerance,  etc?

Don't use q-tips in your ears. That doesn't help you hear.

Apologies if you are deaf.

The Astros were without Brantley all season. Without two of their best players for long stretches. McCullers hasn't pitched. Urquidy's been hurt this year. The list could go on.

The Angels are just not a good team. They haven't been in a long time. You guys are acting like the injuries have something to do with this. Tell me ONE time when this has been a good team since 2016?
