Blue Jays beat the Red Sox.  Yankees beat the Astros. Rangers about to win, too.  So no possibility to gain ground on the Blue Jays tonight, but could pull closer to the Red Sox and Mariners.

They've repeatedly said his vision hasn't been impacted at all, so in theory he should be fine.

I am no longer watching the scoreboard because the playoffs are so unlikely

It is aggravating that 10 of the 15 teams are in a better playoff situation than the Angels.

This is the first game this year that I will not want to swear out loud with each bad play because I am now numb and have accepted the team's fate.

One of the  stats I will continue to follow is the Angels' series record against the AL.

They are currently 7-3-3.

It is mostly their record against the NL that has been more damaging.

If we can’t out hit them or out pitch them maybe we can out yell them.

Logan O'Hoppe will start his rehab assignment in a few days at High-A Inland Empire. He'll start it there before progressing to play at Triple-A Salt Lake. It could take him the full 20 days before he returns.

Tim Salmon went through a complete jaw reconstruction when hit by a pitch in AA. Ward will be back and probably won't have any long term affects.

It's local and a stepping stone for his rehab. Close to Kerlan Jobe for any follow ups as he ramps up.

Tonight's is really a critical game. If we're going to climb out of this hole we really need to win this one.

At this point the Angels have won 56 of 112 games so with 50 games remaining the Angels would need to win 2/3 of their remaining games or 34 games to win 90 games which based on the current standings would be the minimum needed to capture a WIld Card spot. Love the optimism but the reality has been that this Angel team struggles to remain above.500 and they struggle with teams that are above.500. This season is over.
