Bumping this, since in the other thread it seems like Tamin was the reason the pitching sucked last year.

The algorithm was about usage, not pitch selection.  So....

But it's pretty clear there was a disconnect between Tamin in other areas and how it was being filtered down to the players.

It's a shame really.

With the implementation of the pitch clock there doesn't seem to be any opportunity for the pitcher to disagree with the pitch called by the catcher.   Maybe CERA is actually a valuable stat now.
