This is the main topic on the Gator message boards right now (I run a small one). The player in question is Jalen Kitna, son of former NFL QB Jon Kitna. It doesn't exactly show awareness when you tell the police that you believed that the child pornography that you have is OK because you found it on the internet. To top it off, starting QB Anthony Richardson has apparently left the team to prepare for the NFL Draft (big mistake, IMO, but it isn't my call). Florida is bowl eligible, and they may be playing the bowl game with a QB who has never taken a snap in a game.

He has basically ruined his life, and he isn't 20 yet. What remains to be seen is whether he will face federal charges in addition to the ones that the state has filed. If the pornographic files crossed state lines, that is a possibility. A high school friend and retired school teacher was arrested on similar charges early this year in an FBI sting operation, and he was sentenced to more than 20 years in federal prison earlier this fall.

ESPN reported that Kitna has been kicked off the team, but that was just a formality.

I would imagine that the university has expelled him. He was released tlo the custody of his parents, who live in Texas. He posted $80K bail.
