OC Register: Angels right-hander Chris Rodriguez to miss much of 2022 after shoulder surgery

Anytime I hear shoulder, that’s a red flag for a pitcher.

Rodriguez has the benefit of youth Ave time in his side. He can be shut down for the next few months and still have a clean bill of health coming into next year, which has been the plan all along.

Plus, soreness suggests muscular instead of joint. Pain on the other hand may be something else entirely.

similar to what @Inside Pitch mentioned earlier, Rodriguez needs to chill and understand him limitations.  There's a balance between wanting to get out there and help the team and compete vs. recognizing at least some semblance of your limits without compromising on that competitive spirit.

The kid had a taste of loving out everything he dreamt of his whole life and you want to preach on temperance. Sorry, but that message is going to fall on deaf ears, doc.

Are you right? Of course you are. But you're asking for a shift in the very line of thinking that got him to the major leagues in the first place, which is pushing past perceived limitations and expectations.

I think you have to write it out for young guys such as himself in plain English. Don't even pick up a baseball again until September. Just stretch and rest.

They need to tie his arm to his side.  Big ole red-ass.
