Angels linked to Schwarber

How much has Ohtani pitched last 4 years? Robin Yount SS went to CF it happens a lot.

Yount was a fucking shortstop! He had the skills to play both positions because his entire career was based on fielding at an elite level. He didn't have the skills to pitch.

Ohtani can pitch and hit. If he could field the Ham Fighters would have played him in the field instead of DH.

Circling back to the idea of Schwarber - perhaps if they do sign him, the idea is to help upgrade LF/DH.

We have Upton, but he's very streaky and not exactly the most disciplined hitter.  Perhaps adding Schwarber, at a cheap cost, would help deepen our offense in that regard and he can find ABs in both LF/DH, and maybe in an emergency, RF.

Schleber is also someone of interest.  We signed him to a minor league deal, but he's been a decent big league player for the most part, and can probably make a decent platoon with Ward. He also has played a number of games in CF, so he can even potentially serve as a backup option there.

So let's say we signed Schwarber, and let's say that Schebler has a good spring and makes the roster.  What lineups could we see?

vs RHP (Ohtani plays):  Fletcher 2B, Schwarber LF, Trout CF, Rendon 3B, Walsh 1B, Ohtani DH, Stassi C, Schebler RF, Iglesias SS

vs RHP (Ohtani sits):  Fletcher 2B, Schwarber LF, Trout CF, Rendon 3B, Walsh 1B, Upton DH, Stassi C, Schebler RF, Iglesias SS

vs LHP (Ohtani plays):  Fletcher 2B, Schwarber LF, Trout CF, Rendon 3B, Walsh 1B, Ward RF, Ohtani DH, Stassi C, Iglesias SS

vs LHP (Ohtani sits):  Fletcher 2B, Schwarber LF, Trout CF, Rendon 3B, Walsh 1B, Ward RF, Upton DH, Stass C, Iglesias SS

That could be our "core lineups."  Pujols can start ~2 times per week, once at DH and once at 1B to give Walsh a day off.  Upton can get a start or two in LF per week to give Schwarber a day off.  And perhaps maybe Schwarber can play RF once every now and then as well too.

Not saying this is a perfect plan, but it could be a pathway to helping balance the lineup at a cheap cost.
