Yes. He projects as a bench player and is better than Bour, who hasn't adjusted to major league pitching playing 2 or 7 days a week. Otherwise trade him, because with Pujols and Ohtani in the fold there's no room for a 1B in the pipeline until 2022.

No you project him as a bench player not the Angels.

If you DFA Bour and bring Regifo back you've got a bunch of options in the infield, that is, if Fletcher or LaStella can play some 1st base when Albert sits.

But there's got to be a way to get Bour out of here. Automatic out.

By the way, any word on Upton's recovery from his stubbed toe? End of May will be 8 weeks, right?

Alvarez/Garcia:

ERA -  5.54/2.25

ERA+ -  81/185

WAR -  -0.2/0.4

WHIP -  1.538/1.440

OPS -  .953/.596

But he disagrees.  So there you have it.  Facts mean a lot less than feelings.

Bottom line is if you want the team to do analytical things then your team is going to make moves that don’t make sense on the surface.  With how Robblin felt about Scioscia he wanted the team to go in an analytical direction.

LoL.

People are actually complaining that the Angels did not sweep the Orioles.  Canning was eventually going to have a game where he was not on his best, it happens to young pitchers.  This has been a pretty good road trip considering how it started in Mexico (I know it was technically a home game.) last weekend.  The next series in Minnesota will be more challenging.  If they win the next two series, they will be at .500.

Not at all. You brought up FIP and their FIPs are pretty damn close.

I like that Alvarez is left handed. If Garcia continues to walk a ton of guys and not strike anyone out, his numbers aren’t going to get any better than they already are at currently. Shit, look at today.

And wanting the team to go in an analytical direction doesn’t mean that we still can’t question the analytical moves. It’s not mutually exclusive.

Overall, super happy with the general direction of the organization. Still doesn’t mean every move they make is perfect even if it’s made because of advanced analytics.
