Nats now talking extension with Rendon

Arenado.  Trout.  Bregman.  Now Rendon. (I'm sure I missed somebody)

But just wondering if all these larger extensions mean something in terms of what te owners think will happen in the next CBA.

Are the owners more willing to commit now because they think the landscape will change and these will all be value deals?

I think the players are more willing because they don't want to deal with being a free agent.  In the past, I think the players were a lot less likely to go for the extension .

I think well see a lot of teams talking extension with top stars in the near term simply because the top bar has been set.
Noone on the planet is better than Trout or has his resume as a player on a personal achievement level, therefore none should ask for as much or expect to be offered as much.
I think well see a lot of these guys getting locked up for between 30-33 per based on whats transpired this off season.

Not to mention not wanting to deal with the FA nonsense it benefits them to do so.

The Mookie Betts situation seems a tad tense already....
