What will be the yearly breakdown of Trout's contract

is my guess.

My initial thought was 2019-20 as is, then an even $36M per year after. But knowing that Trout wants to win, maybe he backloads the contract, giving them more money to throw around for a Gerrit Cole and other needs next year.

that's why I wrote what I did.  It will give the halos some room while Albert is still on the books.

that could be the case although I'd like to see as much financial flexibility during his prime years.
